This website is for people who want to share experiences around neighbourhood planning, which gives local communities new powers to shape their areas and was introduced by the Localism Act 2011.
Resources is where site visitors can access useful documents, videos, and links about neighbourhood planning. Resource categories such as Links and Documents have sub-categories to help you find what you need. If you have material that could be valuable to others, please send us details.
The Forums are for general discussion and information exchange around neighbourhood planning. Any site visitor can see the discussions in these forums, but you need to register if you want to post a comment. You can also suggest new forum topics by emailing us. Tips for using the Forums and Groups on this site (pdf).
Groups are for local communities who are interested in developing a neighbourhood plan for their area, or who have already started on the process. Anyone registered to use the forums on this site can start a group – but check first that there isn’t one already for your neighbourhood. Each group has their own forums, a resource area for unloading documents, and a members list. Groups can choose to be public, or they can elect to be private so that new members need to apply to join, and access to the group’s plans and discussions is ‘members only’.
